Tokyo, Japan / Greensburg, IN – Earlier this month, Greensburg Mayor Joshua Marsh and Bryan Robbins, Executive Director of the Greensburg Decatur County Economic Development Corporation (EDC), traveled to Japan as part of the Indiana delegation to strengthen relationships with Japanese companies and global partners.
The visit coincided with the 55th Annual Joint Meeting of the Japan-Midwest U.S. Association (JMUSA), where leaders from across Indiana and the Midwest gathered with Japanese executives and government officials to discuss economic partnerships, workforce development, and opportunities for collaboration.
While abroad, Mayor Marsh and Robbins met with executives from Nipro Corporation and Resonac Corporation; two leading Japanese companies with established operations in Greensburg. Both companies play a critical role in the local economy, providing high-quality jobs and contributing to the community’s long-term growth.
Bryan Robbins emphasized the importance of international engagement for Greensburg’s competitiveness. “Japanese companies have been part of Greensburg’s story for decades,” Robbins said. “Continuing to build trust and collaboration with their leadership in Japan ensures that our workforce, community, and local economy remain top of mind when they plan for growth.”
Japan remains one of Indiana’s most significant global partners, with over 300 Japanese-owned business facilities employing more than 55,000 Hoosiers statewide. The Greensburg delegation’s participation in JMUSA and company visits underscores the city’s commitment to nurturing these relationships while positioning Decatur County for future investment and opportunity.
