Greensburg, IN – The Greensburg/Decatur County Economic Development Corporation (EDC), alongside the Greensburg/Decatur County Chamber of Commerce and local entrepreneur Mayasari Effendi, recently spent four days in Indianapolis attending the 2025 Global Entrepreneurship Congress (GEC).
Hosted by the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN), which operates in more than 200 countries, the GEC brought together representatives from nearly 150 nations to share bold ideas, practical strategies, and collaborative solutions designed to help entrepreneurs grow, create jobs, and build innovation-driven economies. This was only the second time in history that the United States has hosted the global event.
The 2025 theme, “The Bold Change the World,” set the tone for conversations ranging from AI-powered innovation to empowering everyday entrepreneurs. Attendees heard from thought leaders including Indiana Governor Mike Braun, investor Mark Cuban, and dozens of global changemakers.
“We left the Global Entrepreneurship Congress energized and inspired,” said Project Coordinator, Emma Luttel. “It was incredible to learn not only from entrepreneurs around the world, but also about the innovation happening right here in Indiana. Our role as ecosystem builders is to ensure Decatur County fosters the kind of environment where entrepreneurs can launch bold ideas and truly thrive.”
The EDC expressed gratitude to the Indiana Economic Development Corporation and the Global Entrepreneurship Network for hosting the monumental event and for spotlighting Indiana’s growing role in the global innovation economy.
“This experience was more than a conference—it was a reminder of the powerful role our community can play in the future of entrepreneurship,” said Executive Director Bryan Robbins. “We’re proud to bring those lessons back to Decatur County as we continue building opportunities for innovation, job creation, and economic growth.”
