February 2008 Workshop Report

  

Muscatatuck Urban Training Center and Camp Atterbury

Attendees listened to a fascinating program informing them of the activity at both Muscatatuck and Camp Atterbury.  Larry Fagerston, Director of Community Outreach for the complex, explained their accomplishments and goals.  He spoke about the influx of revenue into the surrounding areas due to government funding, program expansions, and increases in full-time employees.

High-Tech Park

Growth in number of employees

Land/Facilities Partnerships

Leverage of State Resources

Community Involvement

 Theresa Brading, area specialist with USDA Rural Development, gave everyone information about a loan program for small businesses that would guarantee 80% of the amount of the loan.

 Wanda Heath, project manager with the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, also supplied guests with a list of several programs designed for Indiana entrepreneurs to accelerate growth.

The next workshop is scheduled for March 28 at 10:00 and will feature Myron Kanning, from Indiana University, speaking on doubling results.  Also, Linda Williamson, from BEDA, will present information on strategic planning for the Economic Development Corporation.
